Chiropractic why people choose it?

You’ve probably heard this before, maybe even a couple times, “The health of your spine is pretty darn important.”

But, were you aware . . . . it controls just about everything.

Dr. Wright and Chiropractic Physicians everywhere understand this, they respect this. Chiropractic care isn’t just about a sore back or achy neck. When your spine is out of alignment, rest assured, some Organ or Body System (digestion, sleeping, mood, etc.) down the line is probably being affected, and your Overall Health is most likely being affected.

Chiropractic care is more than just about making the pain disappear, it’s about learning about your body and how you can take charge of your health NOW to insure a Good Quality of Life in Your Later Years.

Why a new wave is happening; people are seeking chiropractic care first…

Questions we often get:

I’ve been in Chiropractic or Physical Therapy for months now, why am I not getting better yet?

Because there’s a good chance your body doesn’t have “the materials” to rebuild or heal. Injury places a greater demand for good nutrition on your body. High-quality nutrients are needed for rebuilding injured tissue, raising energy levels and balancing body chemistry.

*BOTTOM LINE:* If your body doesn’t have the building materials (good nutrition), it can’t rebuild, it can’t heal and chances are you will go back to square one of your injury/illness or disease within time.

This is one of the many benefits of seeking care at a holistic office such as ours. We can offer structural & muscular care (chiropractic and PT), as well as nutritional medicine to help assist your body to heal and repair.

Our full range of healing services increases your odds of addressing and correcting your issue, *long-term.*

Before resorting to drugs, injections or surgery, people are seeing Dr. Wright and chiropractic physicians first for natural, safe answers.

Many times, chiropractic care, massage, or supporting supplements can do the job and with less detriment to your already stressed body.

Chiropractic attends to an area of our body called “the spine”, which has a profound influence upon the rest of our body through our nervous system.

Because our spine is vulnerable to stresses such as gravity, poor posture, physical trauma, the quality of our diet, and our emotional state, it frequently becomes “misaligned”, leading to pain and stress from our shoulders down to our feet – from the inside to the outside of our body.

Chiropractic attends to the spine through gentle, hands-on spinal adjustments combined with deep tissue massage, and other therapies that aim at restoring pain-free movement to the spine and normal function to the nervous system and body.

And If You’re Not Comfortable with Manual Adjustments? Not to worry.

Dr. Wright utilizes many other therapies in place of adjustments or manipulations for those patients who prefer something other than manual manipulation.

Why do so many people get regular chiropractic care?

The majority of folks who seek chiropractic care understand “true prevention.”

They don’t wait until their issue has moved into severe pain or immobility, requiring drugs, injections and even surgery.

They know something as simple as regular check-ups (these can range from monthly to every 3 – 4 months or even more), can detect and diffuse issues at the beginning.

In addition, most holistic-minded individuals feel that similar to the diagram, in the beginning, showing how our central nervous system controls everything . . . a healthy spine contributes toward healthy organs and body systems as well, which equals a better Total State of Health for You.

Why is Chiropractic often ignored by the medical field?

Although more and more medical doctors are recognizing chiropractic (and being treated themselves), there continues to be an obvious resistance to anything labeled “non-conventional medical,” which includes: chiropractic care, nutrition, vitamins, supplements, and massage therapy just to name a few.

Many medical doctors continue to believe that anything “non-conventional” is “unscientific” and therefore “unreliable.”

Although we have great respect for the medical profession, we believe that this attitude is rather ignorant of the fact that most of today’s medical research is in patenting new drugs. And although drugs are a necessary component in “disease care” or “crisis care” it doesn’t fulfill our current health need today, which is preventing those serious conditions from occurring in the first place. This, is True Health Care, this is what Dr. Wright and the chiropractic profession stands for . . .

Prevention: To hinder or stop from doing; to keep from occurring; to act ahead of. The act of preventing or impeding.

Chiropractic Care = Preventative Care

What are Chiropractic Adjustments?

Dr. Wright utilizes gentle and controlled forces applied over restricted or misaligned vertebrae/ribs/extremity joints called adjustments or manipulations.

Dr. Wright helps the body regain its Total State of Health.

These help restore normal motion to our joints when our body’s own muscles cannot do it on their own. The important fact to remember is”a joint that can’t move, can’t nourish itself or heal,” therefore, maintaining good movement is critical to the survival of our joints and the discs of our spine.

The result of adjustments is allowing movement to our spine and extremities. This not only helps us to feel better but also helps out our nervous system to function better.

Restoring movement to the body and improving the function to our nervous system has a profound effect on our TOTAL STATE OF HEALTH

How did Chiropractic Start?

DDPalmerChiropractic care (which comes from the Greek word meaning “done by hand”) dates back to 1895. It was developed by Daniel David Palmer, a self-taught healer in Davenport, Iowa. Palmer wanted to find a cure for disease and illness that did not use drugs. He studied the structure of the spine and the ancient art of moving the body with the hands (manipulation).

As more people began to seek Palmer’s care, he refined his theory to state that many ailments were caused by the vertebrae pressing on the nerves of the spine. Palmer called such interference with normal nerve signals “subluxations.” He believed that manipulating or adjusting to correct the alignment of the vertebrae would restore normal brain and nerve transmission and help the body’s natural ability to recover from illness.

Others in the field of science and medicine also felt the body was smarter than we were giving it credit for, including Albert Einstein, as he wrote below:

“The Doctor of the Future will give no medicine, but will interest their patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.”

- Albert Einstein, 1903

Our Chiropractic Techniques

We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our judgment and years of experience.

The primary adjusting techniques we use include:

Activator Methods®

This is a system of spinal evaluation combined with a handheld adjusting instrument that delivers a consistent, low-force thrust. read more»

Gonstead

This full spine approach relies on X-rays and a heat-sensing instrument for a thorough evaluation and documented results. read more»

Diversified

After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up “stuck” spinal joints. read more»

If you’ve been to a chiropractor before and prefer to be adjusted in a particular way, let Dr. Robert Wright know. We want you to relax, enjoy and fully benefit from your chiropractic care.
