Holistic CareHolistic care is a functional approach to health. The concept of “function” asks us to consider why an ailment exists. In other words, instead of being content with treating your symptoms, we look further into actually understanding what is behind the symptom. Because your body as a whole is made up of interdependent parts or systems, we must examine multiple facets to your health to truly understand the root cause of your problems.
We can use a triangle to illustrate the interdependent nature of systems having an effect on one another. We call this model “the triad of health.” Where upon each side of the triangle is connected to both of the other sides or facets of our health – each works in conjunction with the next. An example would be how our diet, the chemical/ nutritional side of health, influences our emotions, our mental state and finally, the integrity of our bones, muscles and structural part of the body. So if we only addressed your ailment via adjustment, without discovering that a poor diet may be playing a significant role, then we would never reach the causal aspect of your pain, discomfort or symtoms. The three sides of our health comprise of Structure, Chemical and Mental. |
